my dad BBQ’s all the time and I have never seen him use a crock pot or a gas grill to make ribs.. He does them on an offset smoker which is how you make real BBQ.

Bottle of Liquid Smoke? Everytime I used liquid smoke I overdid it. I imagine you meant just a few drops of liquid smoke. That stuff is potent.
